TN11RAU201: backward Raman and erbium-doped fiber hybrid optical amplifier unit

The RAU2 board has two functional versions: TN11 and TN12.

The RAU2 board integrates with a backward Raman module, an EDFA module and a VOA. Compared with an EDFA, the RAU2 board improves system performance in addition to amplifying C-band optical signals at the receive end.

The RAU2 board amplifies C-band optical signals and supports gain adjustment, in-service optical performance monitoring, gain locking, and transient state control.

The RAU2 board consists of a Raman module, EDFA module, OTDR drive and receiving module, VOA, driver and detection module, control and communication module, and power supply module.

Description

Basic functions

Amplifies the power of C-band optical signals in the C band using the built-in backward Raman module and EDFA module. This board supports wavelengths within the 1529-1561 nm range.
Provides for service transmissions with varying fiber spans without using electrical regeneration.
Performs distributed amplification of signals within a wide bandwidth over a long distance.
The TN12RAU2 board supports the interlock switch. The interlock switch of a LINE port on the panel controls the power-on and power-off of the board and prevents eyes from being injured by laser when an optical fiber is inserted into or removed from the LINE port.
